Product description
Amaryllis Temptation is a show -stopping perennial that brightens the room with vibrant colour during the greyest months of the year. These size 26-28 bulbs produce large trumpet-shaped blooms with white petals edged in red and patterned with vibrant raspberry brushstrokes. Although they generally flower from January to March, early bulbs planted in September should be in flower right in time for Christmas.
Amaryllis bulbs are perfect for indoor gardening and grow well in pots. Soak each bulb in lukewarm water before planting in moist but well-draining soil, leaving the top third of the bulb above soil level. Position in a bright spot with limited direct sunlight and water regularly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. After flowering, prune back the flower stalks, leaving the foliage in place to die back naturally. Cut back dead foliage in late autumn, ready for fresh new growth to emerge.

Top Tip
Allow the foliage to completely die back naturally before cutting it away. Doing this provides additional nutrients for the bulb to encourage more flowering and healthy growth the following year.
How to Water
Amaryllis prefers moist but not waterlogged soil. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist while ensuring excess water drains freely away. Don’t sit the plant in standing water and bear in mind that the top of the bulb won’t like water sitting on top of it. Reduce watering during the dormant season.
How to Plant
The best time to plant Amaryllis bulbs is 6-8 weeks before you’d like them to start flowering. Choose a pot slightly bigger than the bulb and half fill it with free-draining potting mix. Position the bulb in place and cover the roots with soil, leaving the top third of the bulb sticking out above soil level. If growing multiple bulbs together, leave around 3cm between bulbs. Move the pot into a cool, dark place for a week or 2 until shoots start sprouting, them move it into a warm, bright spot to watch it flourish.
