Apple Golden Delicious is a variety of apple tree, producing a crop of golden, greenish yellow apples with a sweet taste once they have ripened fully. Vibrant, green foliage is accompanied throughout spring by a profusion of ruffled blooms in shades of white tinged with pale pink. After the blossoms have gone, Golden Delicious apples will begin to grow and ripen, ready from harvest from around September onwards.
Golden Delicious apples are an incredibly popular variety for eating straight from harvest, but also for use in cooking. Although this variety is not the easiest to grow, it is perfect for fans of gardening and growing fruit to add an extra challenge. Golden delicious is excellent for growing with other varieties, and it will grow particularly well in milder parts of the UK.

How to Water
Water apple trees deeply after planting and regularly during the first year to establish a strong root system. Mature trees benefit from consistent watering during dry spells, particularly in spring and summer when fruit is forming. Avoid overwatering, ensuring the soil is moist but not soggy. Water early in the morning or late in the evening to minimise evaporation and allow the tree to absorb moisture efficiently.
How to Plant
To plant an apple tree, select a sunny spot with well-draining soil, ideally with a pH of 6.0–7.0. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and slightly shallower than its depth. Position the tree with its graft union above soil level, backfill gently with soil, and firm it lightly to eliminate air pockets.
