Product description
Gardenia Jasminoides are excellent evergreen shrubs, with perfect low mounding habit, popular for their extremely scented flowers. Kleim’s Hardy is a dwarf Jasminoides that is native to China and Japan. It is also commonly known as the Cape Jasmine and appreciated as a gorgeous, compact container plant.
This Gardenia Jasminoides shrub has lustrous dark green leaves that flourishes all year round. It blooms stunning star-shaped, single white flowers with 5-6 elegant petals, carrying an exquisite fragrance from late spring to mid-summer. Kleim’s Hardy can also occasionally bloom flowers in late summer.
These beautiful shrubs thrive in dappled shade or semi-shade, planted in a rich fertile and neutral to acid soil, that is well-drained. Add a feed with balanced liquid fertiliser in March and later in June. Gardenia plants need regular watering if they are grown outdoors. Prune them slightly to maintain their neat shape and faded flowers in spring.
Gardenia Jasminoides despise competition other nearby plant roots. Although it is usually grown in greenhouses and conservatories, Kleim’s Hardy still makes a perfect container plant or used for sheltered borders.
Plant your Kleim’s Hardy Jasmine plant near garden entrance or patio where it can boast its showy flowers.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Gardenias thrive in humid environments. To maintain humidity, consider misting the leaves or placing a humidifier nearby.
How to Water
Water Gardenias deeply and consistently, keeping the soil moist but not soggy. Avoid overwatering, as they are sensitive to root rot. During dry spells, water more frequently but allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
How to Plant
Plant Gardenias in well-draining, acidic soil with a slightly acidic pH. Choose a location with partial to full sun and dig a hole about twice the size of the root ball. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.
