Product description
Prunus cerasifera Spring Glow is a decorative variety that grows as a deciduous shrub, reaching a height of about 5m and a width of about 4m. It is a nice upright bush with a round crown, that grows into a large shrub to small tree. It is littered with pink flowers from March to April and these flowers are loved by bees, bumble bees and hoverflies.
The ornamental Spring Glow flowers from February to April with very attractive and numerous pink cupped flowers. Its narrow, about 6-12 cm long, leaves have a beautiful medium green colour. The shoots display bright purple colour in spring. Its lanceolate and sawn leaves are medium green. After the blooming period, the tree is blessed with edible round fruits (peach) that are orange-red and softly hairy.
Spring Glow will thrive in any normal garden soil in sunny to partially shaded position. It prefers nutrient rich soil that is well-drained. A sunny location lets the juicy peaches ripen. It may need protection against strong winds, so choose a sheltered location in full sun.
It tolerates frost very well. The plant has a medium to low water requirement. Water regularly in summer months and allow the soil to dry in the meantime.
Here is a beautiful decorative tree that also bears tasty fruits! Prunus Spring Glow is a gorgeous, winter hardy blossom tree, most suitable in the front yard as a single specimen, or in groups in gardens, rock gardens, bee pasture, etc. Excellent suitability for drifting.

Instructions
Top Tip
Prune your Prunus tree annually in midsummer to maintain its shape and remove any dead, damaged, or overcrowded branches. Avoid pruning during winter to minimise the risk of infection. For flowering varieties, prune immediately after blooming to encourage fresh growth and maximise next season's display. Regular maintenance will keep your tree healthy and looking its best year-round.
How to Water
Water your Prunus tree deeply after planting and consistently during its first growing season to help establish strong roots. Once established, the tree requires less frequent watering but should be watered during prolonged dry spells, especially in the summer months. Take care not to overwater, as Prunus trees dislike waterlogged conditions. Water early in the morning or late in the evening to minimise evaporation and ensure the roots can absorb the moisture effectively.
How to Plant
To plant a Prunus tree, choose a sunny or partially shaded position with fertile, well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably. Place the tree in the hole so that the root collar sits level with the soil surface, then backfill with a mixture of soil and organic matter, firming gently around the roots. Water thoroughly and apply a mulch layer around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping the mulch a few centimetres away from the trunk to prevent rot. Stake young trees for added support in windy areas.
