Product description
Buxus pyramids are a great way to add height and year-round greenery to your garden. They look great on their own on a patio or paved area and can be grouped together in different sizes to create a striking evergreen focal point.
Also known as Boxwood or Box, Buxus cones are surprisingly easy to maintain. They cope extremely well with pruning and are easily kept in shape with just a sharp pair of secateurs required.
Buxus sempervirens prefers to be situated in full sun or partial shade. One of the easiest ways to maintain its topiary shape is to regularly rotate the pot by a quarter. This allows sunlight to reach all angles and helps prevent your box growing unevenly towards the sun. This shrub likes to be in moist but well drained soil and will require regular watering during dry weather. Don’t let the soil dry out completely. Box plants endure cold temperatures well and are relatively slow growing, making them hugely popular topiary trees.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth.

Instructions
Top Tip
Prune Buxus in late spring or summer to maintain its desired shape and encourage dense, compact growth. Use sharp, clean tools to make precise cuts and prevent damage to the foliage. Feed with a slow-release fertiliser in spring to promote vibrant, healthy foliage, and consider applying a top dressing of compost annually to improve soil health. Protect plants from harsh winter winds to avoid foliage discolouration.
How to Water
Water newly planted Buxus regularly during the first year, especially in dry periods, to establish a strong root system. Once established, they are drought-tolerant and typically require watering every 7–10 days during prolonged dry spells. Always water deeply, allowing the soil to dry slightly between watering sessions. Early morning watering is ideal to minimise evaporation and keep the foliage dry, reducing the risk of fungal diseases.
How to Plant
To plant Buxus, choose a partially shaded or sunny spot with well-draining, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Dig a hole twice the width and the same depth as the root ball. Before planting, soak the root ball in water to ensure it is well-hydrated. Place the plant in the hole and backfill with a mix of native soil and compost, firming it gently around the roots. Water thoroughly to settle the soil, and apply a layer of mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds, leaving a gap around the base to prevent rot.
