Product description
Sarcococca Purple Gem is a winter-flowering evergreen garden shrub that provides colour interest throughout the year. Tall, red-purple stems bear oblong-to-lanceolate, glossy, dark-green leaves that remain in place all year-round. In late winter, red buds open to reveal small white flowers with red tips. These blooms are highly fragrant with a jasmine-like scent attracting pollinating insects to the garden. Black fruits appear in autumn, providing a valuable food source for birds and small mammals.
Also known as Sweet Box, Sarcococca is a hardy, low-maintenance garden shrub that is easy to grow. It prefers a sheltered spot in partial to full shade, however, it can tolerate full sun providing the soil is kept reliably and constantly moist. Sarcococca Purple Gem thrives in moderately fertile, well-draining soil and doesn’t require any regular pruning.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.
