Product description

Broccoli Purple Sprouting Santee is an early cropper that produces a healthy yield of tasty spears for months on end, cropping in its first year.

Broccoli is a versatile vegetable that is used in stews, bakes, pasta dishes, and salads. It can also be boiled, steamed, or roasted for a tasty side dish. As well as adding colour to the plate, Purple Sprouting Broccoli is an excellent source of dietary fibre and folic acid and contains even more antioxidants than its green counterpart.

Grow in partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. The harvesting season can be extended by regular picking, which encourages further fresh growth. Broccoli spears turn into flower heads when they’re overly ripe, so harvest regularly and freeze any excess until you’re ready to use.

Sow indoors from March to April or outdoors from May to June. Plant seedlings out from May to June, allowing 45cm between plants. Harvest from June to November.
