Product description
Cacti are exciting, unusual and virtually maintenance free making them the ideal house plant. Cacti are succulents which store moisture in their pads, stems and trunks to use during dry and drought periods. Whether it’s the trendy geometric shapes or the air of untouchability, the cactus is an exciting houseplant which has a big impact in a room and often lives with its owners for generations. This classic’s comeback can be attributed to the fact that it’s both a very easy houseplant to care for and it looks distinctive - perfect for people who like unusual, low-maintenance design.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves. Collections or 'mixed' listings for plants will be selected dependant on availability and carefully hand-picked to ensure their quality.
House Plant Size Guide
House plants come in a wide array of shapes and sizes depending on the variety and maturity of the plant.
6cm/12cm/15cm/19cm/23cm nursery pots are the most common size of pot that they are sold in. This measurement is the diameter at the top of the pot.
12cm potted plants are the most popular providing great value for money and an instant impact. Larger plants that come in pots of 20cm+ are great for making a statement in any room and can represent years of growth to get to that level of maturity and size.

Top Tip
Rotate the pots of your Cactus Mix periodically to ensure even exposure to sunlight, preventing leaning or uneven growth. Feed your cacti with a diluted cactus fertiliser every month during the growing season to encourage strong growth and flowering. Additionally, keep an eye out for pests such as mealybugs, and use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to remove them promptly.
How to Water
Water your Cactus Mix sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between watering sessions. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, approximately every two to three weeks, but reduce watering during autumn and winter when growth slows. Ensure the water drains freely and avoid leaving standing water in the saucer, as this can lead to root rot. Always check the soil moisture before watering to prevent overwatering.
How to Plant
To plant a Cactus Mix, choose a pot with good drainage and use a well-draining cactus-specific soil mix to prevent root rot. Place the cactus in the pot at the same depth it was previously planted, ensuring not to bury the base of the plant. Fill the pot with soil, gently firming it around the roots, and leave a slight gap at the top for watering. For larger cacti, use tongs or gloves to avoid injury while handling. Position the pot in a sunny spot or under bright, indirect light, depending on the species.
