Product description

Instantly recognisable, these Hardy Border Carnations are vibrant outdoor plants that bring colour and texture interest to beds, borders, and patio pots. Long stems, mixed colours, and long-lasting blooms make these Carnations a popular choice for indoor vase displays, while bees and butterflies find them irresistible. The large double flowers have a beautiful, sweet fragrance and boast the signature frilled petals Carnations are famed for.

Sow in pots or trays from January to March and prick seedlings off at 10cm apart when they are large enough to handle. When the plants reach around 8cm tall you’ll know they are ready to be transplanted into their flowering site but hold off until June when all risk of frost has passed. Allow 25cm between plants and grow in full sun in light, well-draining soil, deadheading regularly to promote further flowering.
