Product description

Nero di Milano is a popular Courgette plant originating from Italy. It has an erect, open habit, making it easy to harvest the long, cylindrical fruits.

In summer, the plant is decorated with bright yellow edible flowers that act as a magnet for bees, bringing plenty of welcome pollinators into the garden. The courgettes themselves are smooth with dark green skin and tasty white flesh. They are a great source of vitamin C and can be roasted or steamed to make a filling main or side dish.

Also known as Zucchini Black Beauty, Courgette Nero di Milano is easy to grow, and its compact habit makes it well suited to pots and containers. Grow in in a sheltered sunny spot in slightly acidic moist but well-draining soil. A high-potassium fertiliser helps get the best from the plant by applying when the fruits start to swell.
