Product description
Cyperus alternifolius Zumula, commonly known as Cat Grass, is a very simplistic indoor plant. Its bright green foliage will add a vibrancy to the room it is placed in, whilst not being invasive or distracting anyone. Its main asset is that it is 100% cat friendly, meaning your feline friends are safe to roam about this plant with no worry of toxicity harming them.
The plant is best placed in bright, indirect light. This makes most homes, offices, desks and window sills ideal. If conditions allow, you could also place this plant on the floor due to its cat-safe nature. Watering should be done once a week to ensure the soil remains relatively moist, whilst not allowing it to stand in water for a large amount of time.

House Plant Size Guide
House plants come in a wide array of shapes and sizes depending on the variety and maturity of the plant.
6cm/12cm/15cm/19cm/23cm nursery pots are the most common size of pot that they are sold in. This measurement is the diameter at the top of the pot.
12cm potted plants are the most popular providing great value for money and an instant impact. Larger plants that come in pots of 20cm+ are great for making a statement in any room and can represent years of growth to get to that level of maturity and size.

Top Tip
Encourage lush, upright growth by placing Cyperus in a well-lit area with high humidity. For indoor plants, mist the leaves regularly or use a humidity tray to maintain moisture levels. Prune dead or yellowing stems close to the base to keep the plant tidy and to direct energy toward healthy new growth.
How to Water
Water Cyperus frequently to maintain consistently moist soil, as it thrives in damp conditions. During warmer months, ensure the plant receives water daily if grown in containers or gardens. For indoor plants, keep the pot standing in a shallow tray of water to simulate its natural wetland environment. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as this can stress the plant and stunt its growth.
How to Plant
To plant Cyperus, choose a sunny to partially shaded spot with moist, well-draining soil. If planting in a container, use a pot with drainage holes and a soil mix rich in organic matter to retain moisture. Ensure the crown is just above the soil level, and water thoroughly after planting. For water gardens or ponds, place the Cyperus in a basket submerged in shallow water. Regularly monitor the soil to keep it consistently moist.
