Product description

Flourishing into strikingly unusual flowers lasting all the way from July to October, these Dahlia Cactus Hybrids Mixed seeds are ideal for brightening up beds, borders and containers with vivid summer colour. The flowers feature long, slender, pointed petals and come in a rainbow of shades including red, yellow, pink, purple, orange, and white. Adored by pollinators, Dahlias entice bees and butterflies into the garden all season long. They also make fantastic cut flowers for indoor vase displays.

Sow Cactus Dahlia seeds in trays from February to April and keep them in a warm spot until the seedlings are large enough to handle. Transplant into 9cm pots ready to gradually harden off and plant out in the flowering site from May, once the risk of frost has passed. Choose a spot in full sun in moist but well-draining soil and leave 60cm between plants. Water Dahlias regularly until they are firmly established and deadhead spent blooms to promote further flowering.
