Product description

Dianthus Plumarius Sweetness Mixed is the ideal blend of seeds for brightening up beds, borders, pots, and containers with quirky summer blooms. Slender green leaves create a lush base for stems of saucer-shaped flowers, with delicately fringed petals creating a beautiful effect. The highly fragrant blooms are a magnet for pollinators, enticing bees and butterflies into the garden.

Sow Dianthus Plumarius Sweetness Mixed seeds in pots or trays from January to April and keep them in a warm spot of around 18C until the seedlings are large enough to handle. Transplant into 9cm pots ready to gradually harden off and plant out between July and October. Once settled into their flowering site, the plants will bloom from July to September the following year. Choose a sheltered spot in full sun in moist but well-draining soil and leave 30cm between plants. Water Dianthus regularly until they are firmly established and deadhead spent blooms to promote further flowering.
