Product description

Green Mint is a popular variety that not only looks attractive but is also aromatic and bursting with flavour. Harvest the lush green leaves regularly before the flowers develop and use them to add flavour to potatoes and peas or make a mint sauce for lamb dishes. Green Mint is also perfect for making mint tea and is an excellent garnish for cold drinks and cocktails.

Hardy and easy to grow, Green Mint thrives in most soil types, as long as it is kept moist but well-drained. Cut back old stems in autumn, ready for the fresh new growth to emerge in spring. Mint is notorious for spreading but can be kept contained by growing in pots or planters. Place them on the patio for easy harvesting or submerge the pots into the ground to prevent the roots taking over the herb garden.

Sow Green Mint seeds under glass from March to April. Plant out from May to June, once the risk of frost has passed and allow 30cm between plants. Harvest from April to November.
