House Plant Size Guide
House plants come in a wide array of shapes and sizes depending on the variety and maturity of the plant.
6cm/12cm/15cm/19cm/23cm nursery pots are the most common size of pot that they are sold in. This measurement is the diameter at the top of the pot.
12cm potted plants are the most popular providing great value for money and an instant impact. Larger plants that come in pots of 20cm+ are great for making a statement in any room and can represent years of growth to get to that level of maturity and size.

Top Tip
Wipe the leaves of your Kentia Palm regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust and enhance its natural shine. Rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth and prevent it from leaning towards the light. For a healthy plant, feed with a liquid fertiliser specifically formulated for indoor plants during the growing season, and avoid over-fertilising, as this can harm the roots.
How to Water
Water the Kentia Palm evenly, ensuring the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. In warmer months, increase watering frequency to meet the plant’s growing needs, and reduce it slightly during cooler months when growth slows. Always discard excess water from the saucer to maintain proper drainage and prevent soggy roots.
How to Plant
To plant a Kentia Palm, select a pot with drainage holes and use a well-draining soil mix, such as one designed for palms or a blend of loam, sand, and organic matter. Position the plant in a bright, indirect light spot, avoiding direct sunlight that could scorch the leaves. When repotting, place the root ball in the centre of the pot and fill around it with soil, ensuring the roots are covered but the crown remains above the soil line. Firm gently and water thoroughly after planting.
