Product description
These hardy biennial Leek plants are reliable croppers, producing thick, flavoursome white stems that are ideal for cooking hearty winter meals. When mature, the vigorously growing stems are topped with blue-green foliage.
Leek seeds are a popular choice for growing winter crops. Ready to harvest from late autumn, Carentan Leeks are ideal for adding goodness to stews, soups, and pies. They are low in calories and bursting with nutrients, including vitamins A, K, and C.
Leeks are relatively hardy, low-maintenance outdoor plants that thrive in most moist but well-draining soil types. They prefer a spot in full sun or partial shade and only need regular watering until they’re established.
Sow Leek seeds indoors in March to April or outdoors in May. Plant seedlings out from mid-May, allowing 25cm between plants and 30cm between rows. Harvest from November to February.
