Product description
The Picea Nidiformis is a slow growing, dwarf variety of Norway Spruce with a flat-topped, spreading habit. The bushy, needle-like dark green foliage grows in overlapping layers which create a dense, rounded mound that can be pruned for a more upright look or left to grow and spread lower to the ground, making it a great choice for groundcover or as part of a hanging or cascading display.
Plant in moist, well-drained soil and keep in full sun in a sheltered to semi-sheltered position to protect from cold, dry winds. Prefers acidic soils. Avoid wet and waterlogged sites.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a grower’s pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Picea prefers full sun and well-drained, acidic soil. Avoid planting in heavy, wet soils to prevent root rot.
How to Water
Water Picea deeply and regularly, especially during dry periods, to keep the soil evenly moist. Once established, they are more drought-tolerant but still benefit from consistent watering.
How to Plant
Plant Picea in a well-drained, slightly acidic soil with good airflow. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and position the plant so the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill with soil and water well after planting.
