Product description
The Sweet Pea Spencer Waved Mixed is a vigorous climber known for its large, fragrant flowers with beautifully ruffled petals. This variety produces a stunning mix of colours, making it perfect for brightening up any garden space or for creating striking floral displays. Sweet Peas are a favourite among gardeners for their strong scent and their ability to attract pollinators, adding both beauty and biodiversity to your garden. The Spencer Waved Mixed variety is particularly prized for its robust growth and long stems, which are ideal for cutting and arranging in vases.
Sow Sweet Pea Spencer Waved Mixed seeds indoors from January to March, using seed trays or pots, and transplant them outdoors from April to May. Alternatively, you can sow the seeds directly in their final position outdoors from April to May. These plants prefer a sunny, well-drained spot in the garden, and it's essential to provide them with sturdy support, such as a trellis, canes, or netting, to help them climb as they grow. Space plants about 20cm apart to give them room to flourish.
To enjoy a continuous display of these beautiful blooms, regularly pick the flowers from June to September. Harvesting the flowers not only brings their fragrance indoors but also encourages the plants to produce more blooms. Ensure the soil remains moist, especially during dry spells, and feed the plants with a high-potash fertiliser to promote strong growth and an abundance of flowers. Sweet Peas are relatively easy to grow, making them a delightful addition to any garden, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced gardener.
