About Climbing Plants
Never underestimate the importance of climbing plants! If you are short on space in your garden, or you have unsightly spaces that you’re sick of staring at, then climbers can come to your rescue. They offer the perfect solution, and will give your garden an injection of colour where it needs it most. Climbers are perfect for a trellis or a fence, but they can also work up against an old wall or shed, or offer a bit more privacy to your garden. Instead of looking out at some tatty bricks or old wood, choose the best climbing plants for your garden – you could have clematis, ivy or star jasmine to brighten up the view. Climbing plants for trellis, fences, walls or sheds can transform a garden, and with free UK delivery on all orders over £50 - what’s stopping you?
Evergreen climbers
Evergreen climbers will bring extra interest to your garden all year round, and really help to brighten up your views in those dark winter months. These will also tend to be hardy and relatively low maintenance, so once they get going, all you’ll need to do is keep them in check every now and then.
Some of the best examples of evergreen climbers are the Trachelospermum jasminoides Variegatum or the Star of Toscana - these will beautify any old buildings, walls or fences.
Fast growing climbing plants
If you have a space that you want to cover up as soon as possible, fast growing climbing plants could be the way to go. These are great if you have moved into a new property, or have just installed a new wall, fence or building that you want to cover up quickly. Or maybe you’re just very eager!
Some of the best examples of fast growing climbers are ivy, virginia creeper and wisteria - these will shoot up to give you coverage, as well as a wonderful fragrance.
Climbers for shade
Just because an area is in a shaded part of your garden, it doesn’t mean you can’t brighten it up with climbing plants. There are many climbers that thrive in shady spots, or gardens that don’t get a lot of sun. Again, ivy is a great option for full shade areas, or try a lonicera or clematis if you have a partially shaded spot.
