Product description

Epipremnum pinnatum Aureum, commonly known as Devil's Ivy, is an indoor plant that will be supplied in a 15cm hanging basket. This will allow the trailing nature of the plant to fall in any way you choose, as you can train the vines to cascade to your preference. The plants waxy foliage is filled with variegated green and yellow colour, adding great vibrancy to whichever room you place it in.

You should place the plant in bright, indirect light and water it frequently so the soil is moist but not soggy. Tap water should be left to stand for a few hours if you choose to use it to water the plant.

Instructions

Top Tip

Prune your Epipremnum regularly to encourage bushy growth and remove any yellowing or damaged leaves. Use the cuttings to propagate new plants by placing them in water until roots develop, then transplanting them into soil. Rotate the plant periodically to ensure even growth and prevent it from leaning toward the light source. This easy-care plant thrives with minimal effort, making it perfect for beginners.

How to Water

Water your Epipremnum when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, ensuring excess water drains away to prevent root rot. Reduce watering during the winter months, as the plant’s growth slows. Avoid letting the plant sit in waterlogged soil, and mist the leaves occasionally to maintain the humidity it enjoys in its native tropical habitat.

How to Plant

To plant Epipremnum, choose a pot with good drainage and fill it with well-draining, peat-based compost. Plant the root ball so it sits just below the soil surface, firm the compost gently, and water lightly to settle the roots. Position the plant in a bright spot with indirect light, avoiding direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. If planting as a climber, provide a moss pole or trellis for support. Repot every 1–2 years as the plant grows, increasing pot size to accommodate its expanding root system.
