Product description

Acanthus mollis Tasmanian Angel is a plant that will brighten up the garden, with the gorgeous white, trumpet shaped flowers providing great character for the purple addition at the end of each white lobe to offset well against. These shades will show from Spring to Autumn and, to ensure all of its colour and attractiveness is shown, Acanthus should be planted in moist, well-drained soil. The positioning of the plant should be in full sun to partial shade, as well as giving it once-a-week watering to go along with its low maintenance care level.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Herbaceous plants die back below the soil in the Winter and may be supplied in their dormant state during this time. Fresh growth will be seen the following Spring.

Instructions

Top Tip

Acanthus doesn’t cope well with transplanting, so choose your spot carefully and avoid moving the plant unnecessarily.

How to Water

Water regularly until the plant is fully established, after which it should only need thoroughly watered during particularly dry spells.

How to Plant

Plant in a sunny spot in light, well-draining soil. In spring or autumn, dig a hole twice the size of the roots and add in some organic matter. Gently tease out the roots and position the plant in the hole, backfilling with a mix of soil and organic matter. Carefully firm the soil down and water well.
