Product description

With its deep green foliage and eye-catching flower clusters in a beautiful antique red, Achillea New Vintage Red is perfect for adding texture and colour to your garden. Flowering begins in early summer and lasts through to autumn. Although the plant will retreat back underground at the end of autumn, it is cold weather hardy and will sprout back to life the following spring.

Achillea New Vintage Red loves sunshine and is relatively fast growing. At maturity it will reach up to 0.5m in height and spread making it an ideal option for flower beds, borders and containers.

This is a vigorous deciduous plant that requires little maintenance. It grows best in dry conditions where the soil is well-drained.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

Deadhead spent blooms throughout the summer to promote further flowering.

How to Water

Water plants regularly and thoroughly, particularly during dry spells, to help protect against powdery mildew.

How to Plant

Achilleas thrive in full sun or partial shade and are tolerant of most soil types, providing the area is kept moist but well-drained. In spring, when the risk of frost has passed, dig a hole that is twice the width and depth of the root ball and add in some grit to help with drainage. Position the plant in the hole and backfill with soil, firming down gently to prevent air pockets, then water the soil thoroughly.
