Product description
A beautiful variety of the popular African Lily. The Agapanthus 'African Skies' is a tall and vibrant evergreen perennial shrub with somewhat broad, strap-like, rich green foliage which sits in a mounded, clumping form beneath the tall, rigid stems which tower above up to and slightly beyond 1 metre, carrying rounded panicles of tubular to funnel-shaped flowers of deep blue. A highly attractive species well suited to most flower beds or drought resistant borders.
Grows well in most well-drained soils. Keep in full sun in a sheltered position or as a container plant in colder regions which may then be moved under glass in the Winter months. Water well during growing and flowering seasons. May die back in colder regions but fresh growth will be seen the following Spring.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a grower's pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.
