Product description
Perfect for pots and containers as well as borders and flowerbeds, this Alstroemeria Colorita Claressa boasts glossy rich green foliage and large white flowers that are slightly tinged with yellow and pink. This variety of Alstroemeria has an extended flowering season with blooms lasting from Spring all the way through to Autumn. Faded flowers stems should be cut back to promote further flowering.
Alstroemeria is native to South America and its blooms are somewhat reminiscent of lilies, hence the common name Peruvian Lily. The blooms last well as cut flowers and are said to represent friendship and respect.
These dense flowering plants are easy to care for and don’t require much maintenance. Plant them in a bright spot (they don’t flower well in the shade) that is sheltered from strong winds. Alstromerias will thrive in most soil types, as long as the soil is kept moist and well drained. Water regularly during dry spells to prevent dehydration.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.
