Product description

Alstroemeria Colorita Katiana is a compact, perennial plant with variegated foliage of dark green and white shades. The flowers of the plant are made up of a gorgeous, rich red colour that easily brightens up the area it is placed in. Blooming will begin in June and continue through to October. Added onto that, dark flecked markings form above the red colouring. The soil below should be kept moist and well-drained, whilst being kept in full sun to partial shade at the best of times. If kept in areas of shade, it will struggle to thrive with as much ease. The low maintenance care levels means watering the plant once a week will suffice.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Herbaceous plants die back below the soil in the Winter and may be supplied in their dormant state during this time. Fresh growth will be seen the following Spring.

Instructions

Top Tip

Slugs and snails are known to devour alstroemerias, so use an eco-friendly barrier or deterrent to protect young plants.

How to Water

Water regularly during dry spells, taking care not to over-water as this can damage the fleshy roots.

How to Plant

Choose a sheltered spot in full sun with free-draining soil and dig a hole around 20cm deep and slightly wider than the root ball. Add some well-rotted organic matter to the hole and leave 40-60cm between plants.
