Alstroemeria Sunset is ideal for any outdoor space. It adds colour and texture interest to mixed beds and borders but is compact enough to be well-suited to growing in pots and containers.

Also known as Peruvian Lily, this outdoor perennial plant features dark green foliage that perfectly complements the pale, creamy-yellow flowers that cover the plant from late spring to the first frosts. Each funnel-shaped flower is flecked with dark spots and turns a glorious shade of peachy orange towards the centre. These blooms make long-lasting cut flowers and are very popular for bouquets and indoor floral displays. They are excellent for pollinators, attracting bees and butterflies into the garden.

Alstroemeria Sunset is a surprisingly low-maintenance garden plant that is easy to grow and care for. It is relatively drought-tolerant, however, if grown in pots it needs to be watered regularly during dry spells. Prune spent clusters after flowering to promote repeat blooms and cut back spent stems before new shoots emerge in spring. Alstroemeria plants tolerate partial shade, but prefer a warm, sunny spot in well-draining soil.
