Product description
Arbutus unedo 'Atlantic' is a compact, dense shrub with reddish brown bark, the foliage of this plant is evergreen and develops glossy dark-green toothed leaves. Later in the year, these plants will develop cream coloured urn-shaped flowers, and the following year these flowers will begin to bear strawberry-like fruit that is edible, these fruits will initially appear yellowish-green before fully ripening to red around flowering time in autumn. This plant will thrive in either a fully sunny or partially shaded area, it can tolerate pretty much any type of soil.

9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

How to Plant
Choose a sheltered spot in full sun and plant arbutus in well-drained soil. Mix in some organic matter to give the soil a boost of nutrients before placing the plant in the hole and backfilling it, gently firming down as you go. Water in well, ensuring excess water can drain away freely.
