Product description
Astilbe Short 'n' Sweet Fireberry is a small, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial that is perfect for smaller spaces due to its compact size. The plant will grow dense, with upright clusters of stunning red flowers in the months of July and August. The blooms will sit at the peak of slim, vertical stems full of small, divided green leaves with serrated edges. This variety will also reach an ultimate height and spread of 0.5m.
Commonly known as False Goat's Beard, Astilbe plants are pretty low maintenance. An area of full sun or partial shade is preferred, as well as being planted in moist, well-drained, loamy soil. You should also water the plant when the soil is dry to touch, ensuring it continues to thrive and flourish in any pots, containers, borders, patios or flower beds.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

How to Plant
Dig in plenty of garden compost and plant in spring or autumn in rich, moist but well-draining soil. Astilbes grows in full sun but flourishes best when planted in partial shade. Create a hole slightly wider than the root ball and position the plant before backfilling, firming gently as you go. Water in well after planting.
