Product description
Astilbe Wonderful Day are deciduous, perennial plants for the garden which are excellent for adding a pop of brightness. Deep green leaves are deciduous and die away each winter before returning again each spring. In late spring, eye-catching plumes of plentiful, creamy white flowers bloom, continuing throughout summer and contrasting beautifully against the green foliage.
Plant Astilbe Wonderful Day in moist, well-drained soil in a partially sunny spot, although these plants will also grow well in shady areas. The striking colours make these plants great patio plants for growing in containers, or great bedding plants for adding to mixed beds and borders.
Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

How to Plant
Dig in plenty of garden compost and plant in spring or autumn in rich, moist but well-draining soil. Astilbes grows in full sun but flourishes best when planted in partial shade. Create a hole slightly wider than the root ball and position the plant before backfilling, firming gently as you go. Water in well after planting.
