Aucuba Mr Goldstrike is a bushy evergreen shrub with an eye-catching, spotted golden yellow and green, variegated design throughout its leaves. Unlike female varieties of Aucubua shrubs, this male variety will not produce red berries in the Summer and Autumn months. However, small purple flowers will appear in Spring to bring life and colour to the appearance of it. Make sure to plant them in moist, well-drained soil and that they are placed in full sun at the best of times. Waterlogged soil is an aspect which will see the shrub struggle to thrive, so please avoid this. Aside from that, watering it once a week will suffice until the plant is established. After that period, it will survive periods of drought.

How to Plant
Dig in some organic matter to boost the soil’s nutrients and plant aucuba in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. Create a hole slightly wider than the root ball and position the plant, gently spreading the roots. Backfill, forming gently as you go, and water in well. Leave 150cm between plants.
