Product description

Our Rubus fruticosus Adrienne is a compact, deciduous shrub. This variety has thornless canes and lovely, lobed, dark green leaves that will gain a yellow colour in Autumn. The foliage contrasts well against their elegant, white flowers that will bloom from late Spring into Summer. Tasty, edible fruit is then ready to harvest in late Summer and can be included in a variety of meals or eaten individually.

They will grow to an ultimate height and ultimate spread of 2.5m. In terms of plant care, it should be placed in bright, indirect sunlight and planted in moist, well-drained soil. Watering becomes essential when the soil is dry to touch.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.

Instructions

Top Tip

Provide blackberry plants with a support to scramble up. Doing this helps keep the plant under control and makes it easy to harvest the fruits.

How to Water

Water young plants regularly throughout the first growing season and then only during dry spells once established.

How to Plant

Plant blackberries in a sheltered spot in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. Dig in some compost or manure and dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball. Remove the plant from its pot and gently tease out the roots before positioning it in the hole with the top of the root ball just slightly under soil level. Backfill the hole, firming down gently, and water in well. Leave around 20cm between plants.
