Our Ribes nigrum Ben Tirran is an upright, deciduous shrub. It possesses yellow-green foliage and white-pale green flowers that contrast perfectly against one another. They will bloom in Spring, before tasty, edible, Blackcurrant fruit is ready to harvest in late Summer. They can be included in a variety of everyday meals, as well as eaten individually, bringing a tremendous, rich flavour.
They will grow to an ultimate height and spread of 1.5m. In terms of plant care, it should be placed in bright, indirect sunlight and planted in moist, well-drained soil. Watering becomes essential when the soil is dry to touch.

How to Plant
Before you begin, weed the area thoroughly and dig in plenty of organic matter. Dig a hole around twice the size of the root ball, remove the plant from its pot, and gently tease out the roots before backfilling, firming down, and watering in well. Blackcurrants will tolerate light shade, but for the best harvest of juicy fruit, plant in full sun in moist but well-draining soil.
