Product description

Gardeners Dream Grow-Your-Own vegetables are the perfect way to grow fresh and nutritious vegetables, in your own garden. Many varieties can even be grown in containers, greenhouses or polytunnels. With a large variety of premium-grade potted vegetables to choose from, growing your own food can be easy, enjoyable and rewarding.

Broad Beans - Bunyards Exhibition DWF is a gardeners favourite, heavy-cropping variety. The plant produces long pods of broad beans, with excellent flavour. Broad beans are a great source of vitamins, fibre and protein. They can be used in a variety of dishes, such as raw in salads, in pasta or made into a toast topper. Grow in a position with full sun in rich, fertile, well-drained soil. In order to keep the plants under control, train up canes or netting. Your crop is ready to harvest once pods are full.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.’

Instructions

Top Tip

Harvest broad beans regularly to encourage more pods to form.

How to Water

Water regularly throughout the growing season, particularly during dry spells when the plants are flowering and pods are forming.

How to Plant

Plant broad beans in full sun in moist but well-draining soil once all risk of frost has passed. Provide stakes or position plants quite close together so they can support each other in the ground or in containers.
