Product description

The deciduous Brunnera Macrophylla Hadspen Cream brings life to gardens in spring, when it blooms with whimsical small blue flowers above appealing green leaves with cream outer margins

Preferring a sheltered site, Brunnera Macrophylla Hadspen Cream is ideal for partially or fully shaded spots with plenty of moisture. Despite the delicate appearance fo the flower sprays, this is a hardy perennial that can cope with temperatures as low as -15 °C.

Brunnera Macrophylla Hadspen Cream, or Siberian Bugloss, is a relatively slow grower and will eventually reach a height of around 0.5m and a spread of around 1m. The pace of growth means it doesn't need divided often (once every 3-4 years) and is easy to care for.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

If you find your hostas are being eaten by slugs and snails, brunnera is a fantastic alternative.

How to Water

Water young plants regularly until they are fully established. After this, water during particularly dry spells, especially if the plant isn’t in a shady spot.

How to Plant

Brunnera is a shade loving plant, so choose a cool spot and plant in moist but well-draining soil. Weed the area thoroughly and dig a hole slightly bigger than the root ball. Dig in some organic matter and position the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is at soil level before backfilling, firming down gently as you go. Water in well.
