Product description
Also known as Butterfly Bush, Buddleia is a striking shrub that is even more popular with butterflies than it is with humans, attracting pollinators to the garden. Buddleia Butterfly Candy Little Ruby is a dwarf variety and is ideal for planting in flowerbeds and borders where it won’t grow to be too large for the space. It also works well in pots and containers to brighten up patios and driveways.
Rich grey-green foliage emerges in Spring and lasts all season before dying back in time for Winter. However, the star of this show is the spiky clusters of deep red flowers that bloom all Summer long. These flowers are pleasantly fragrant and contrast beautifully with the leaves.
Butterfly Bushes are easy to grow and don’t demand much attention. They prefer moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Once established, buddleia is drought tolerant, but will need a drink during long dry spells of Summer weather. As long as the drainage is good, your new Buddleia Butterfly Candy Little Ruby plant will thrive even in poor soil. It does well in most soil types and is fully hardy.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

How to Water
Water young plants regularly for the first year or so until they are fully established. After this, buddleias should only need to be watered during particularly dry spells.
How to Plant
For the best show of flowers, plant buddleia in a sheltered spot in full sun. Ensure the soil drains well and dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball. Dig in some garden compost and position the plant, placing the top of the root ball just below soil level. Backfill with soil and compost and water in well.
