Product description

Buddleia “White Profusion” as the name suggests, is a large deciduous shrub that profusely produces white flowers in spring. The blooms last for weeks and are known as Butterfly Bushes since they attract butterflies. Buddleia plants grow quickly, are hardy and drought tolerant.

These large deciduous grow arching branches that bear narrow green leaves with silver undersides. These branches will make an impressive fountain of white flower clusters that are heavily scented. This scent is very strong in mid-summer and swarms of butterflies (and bees) will irresistibly follow the source of this scent.

Buddleia White Profusion will adapt to loamy, dry soil that retains average moisture and soil that is well-drained. They will thrive in plentiful sun and withhold plenty of attention to your garden. Plant White Profusion in pool area, lawn or patio area. Once established, this plant needs low maintenance and is easy to grow.

In autumn, the pointed leaves of White Profusion will gently fade but only to nurture again and create a mighty floral display for your guests.

Attracting butterflies and bumblebees is its most recognized characteristic, thus suitable for a wildlife garden.

The soft silver-grey undersides of its leaves complement the white wands of flowers, which creates a striking spring attraction. Prune them back hard before spring to keep the shape and size.

Instructions

Top Tip

Deadhead spent blooms to encourage a second flush of flowers.

How to Water

Water young plants regularly for the first year or so until they are fully established. After this, buddleias should only need to be watered during particularly dry spells.

How to Plant

For the best show of flowers, plant buddleia in a sheltered spot in full sun. Ensure the soil drains well and dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball. Dig in some garden compost and position the plant, placing the top of the root ball just below soil level. Backfill with soil and compost and water in well.
