Product description

Heather calluna Beauty Ladies Quattro is a colourful, evergreen shrub. Its vibrant flowerheads produce shades of purple, pink and white on upright stems. This enables it to standout from other varieties, as all shades can be seen from any angle. Blooming from August through to November, this variety will give good, late season interest and its evergreen foliage adds year-round attractiveness to any flower beds, borders, pots, containers and more.

You will find that this plant is easy to grow and takes minimal effort to maintain. It should be placed in full sunlight and planted in moist, well-drained soil, although acid or alkaline soils are also suitable. Water once a week when the soil is dry to touch as this will encourage rapid growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Prune heathers annually after flowering to prevent them from becoming woody and to encourage fresh, compact growth. Cut back faded blooms, but avoid cutting into old wood, as it may not regrow.

How to Water

Water heathers deeply after planting and regularly during their first year to establish roots, especially in dry weather. Once established, they require minimal watering, as they prefer slightly dry conditions. Avoid overwatering, as soggy soil can cause root rot. Water early in the morning or late in the evening to reduce evaporation.

How to Plant

To plant heathers, choose a sunny spot with well-draining, acidic soil. Soak the root ball before planting, then dig a hole twice its width and slightly shallower than its depth. Space plants 30-45cm apart, firm the soil, and water thoroughly. Add mulch to retain moisture and prevent weeds, keeping it away from the base.
