Product description

Camellia 'Spring Festival' is the perfect choice to bring some colour back into the garden after the cold winters with its showy, pale pink flowers which turn a deeper pink further into the spring months. The flowers are a beautiful and intricate shape with ruffled, semi-double peony-like petals that bring an early flash of colour to your outdoor spaces. Camellia 'Spring Festival' is rather compact and works well in the garden as an informal hedge or potted and pruned into shape.

Camellia 'Spring Festival' is a reasonably hardy evergreen shrub which will retain its foliage throughout the winter, though care must be taken to protect it from winter frosts. Plant in well-drained acidic soil and support with ericaceous compost. Maintain soil moisture and keep in partial sun or shaded.

Instructions

Top Tip

Protect Camellias from harsh afternoon sun and frost by planting in sheltered spots. Add mulch annually to retain soil acidity and moisture.

How to Water

Water regularly, especially during dry periods. Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use rainwater if possible, as Camellias prefer slightly acidic water. Avoid wetting the leaves to reduce disease risk.

How to Plant

Choose a partially shaded spot with acidic, well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball but no deeper than its height. Position the plant with the root crown above soil level. Backfill, firm gently, and water well. Mulch to maintain moisture and suppress weeds.
