Product description

Caryopteris Sterling Silver is a deciduous shrub that will flower later in the year, providing those colder months with a gorgeous dose of colour. Late Summer into Autumn is when this plant will begin to produce its stunning colour through the violet-blue flowers, as well as the silver tint on its foliage. Planting this compact shrub in moist, well-drained soil and ensuring it is exposed to full sun at all times is best. Another aspect of caring for the plant is pruning - this should be carried out the best possible display for the following year. Water the plant once a week, ensuring soil remains moist, but not waterlogged.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Resist the urge to provide plenty of fertiliser as this can lead to leafy growth with fewer flowers.

How to Water

Water regularly during the first growing season. After this, caryopteris is drought tolerant and only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells.

How to Plant

Choose a sheltered, sunny spot in light, well-draining soil and dig a hole around twice as wide as the root ball. Position the plant so the top of the root ball is at soil level. Backfill with soil and compost, gently firm down, and water in well.
