A free flowering variety of clematis, ‘Crystal Fountain’ also sometimes knowns as ‘Fairy Queen’ is a heavy and frequent flowerer, producing large, violet-blue, semi-double to double flowers with outer tepals striped with a silver-tinged bands surrounding a centre of dense petaloid stamens. These flowers bloom in late Spring through to early Summer with a second bloom appearing from late Summer through to Autumn, providing a lasting impression into the colder months.
Plant in moisture retentive, well-drained soil and keep the root and base of the planted cool and shaded by other plants or protected with a layer of pebbles. Plant with the crown up to 8cm deep to encourage new growth from below ground level.

How to Water
Water regularly throughout the first few growing seasons to keep the soil evenly moist but not saturated. Once established, clematis is relatively drought tolerant and only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells.
How to Plant
Clematis flowers best when planted in full sun or light shade in fertile, moist but well-draining soil. Prepare the soil by weeding the area thoroughly and adding plenty of well-rotted organic matter. Dig a generous hole and position the plant so the top of the root ball is around 5cm below soil level. Backfill the hole with soil and compost, firm down gently, and water in well.
