A lovely variety of clematis, the ‘Justa’ provides a lovely touch of late season colour with its profusion of small lavender-blue blooms with pale central bands along each petal, which appear from mid-Summer and last to the beginnings of autumn. While it is a climber, its compact nature means that it won’t grow too out of control and is quite easy to manage and maintain. A great variety for more compact areas or for container planting.
Plant in moist, well-drained soils and keep the upper portion in full or partial sunlight. The roots prefer to be kept cool and shaded and can be shielded with groundcover plants or a layer of pebbles.

How to Water
Water regularly throughout the first few growing seasons to keep the soil evenly moist but not saturated. Once established, clematis is relatively drought tolerant and only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells.
How to Plant
Clematis flowers best when planted in full sun or light shade in fertile, moist but well-draining soil. Prepare the soil by weeding the area thoroughly and adding plenty of well-rotted organic matter. Dig a generous hole and position the plant so the top of the root ball is around 5cm below soil level. Backfill the hole with soil and compost, firm down gently, and water in well.
