Product description
Hailing from South America, Cortaderia selloana 'Pumila' or Pampas grass is an ornamental grass, forming dense clumps of tall, narrow, arching leaves topped with captivating feathery plumes of creamy white flowers which bloom late into the summer and autumn. It is a tough, hardy variety that is perfect for screening and creating natural meadow arrangements.
'Pumila' will thrive in well-drained soil in warm, sunny spots. Make sure to protect the young crowns during the first winter with a deep layer of dry mulch and give it lots of space to develop and grow. Water regularly, making sure the soil is soaked thoroughly.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Instructions
Top Tip
Cut back pampas grass in late winter or early spring to encourage new growth and maintain a tidy appearance. Wear gloves when handling, as the leaves can be sharp.
How to Water
Water pampas grass regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, it’s drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering. Water deeply during dry spells, but avoid overwatering, as they prefer well-drained soil.
How to Plant
Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide and the same depth as the root ball. Place the plant, backfill with soil, and water well. Space plants 150-180cm apart to allow room for growth. Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
