The foliage turns to beautiful shades of red and orange come the Autumn before the leaves autumn away. A slow growing and easy to manage shrub.
Plant in moist, well-drained soils. Keep in full or partial sun. requires little pruning and is generally a low maintenance shrub.

Water regularly for the first 2 years. Cotinus plants are drought tolerant once established and only need to be watered during particularly dry spells.
How to Plant
Cotinus tolerates partial shade but flourishes best when exposed to full sun. It prefers moist but well-draining soil and benefits from adding organic matter into the soil before planting. Dig a hole around twice as wide as the root ball. Position the plant so the top of the root ball is at soil level then backfill with soil and compost, gently firm down, and water in well.
