Product description
Cupressus cypress Wilma, commonly referred to as Goldcrest, is a popular evergreen conifer that develops into a columnar habit, prized for it's attractive foliage. Boasting bright golden-yellow foliage in ascending sprays, the needles of this plant give off a strong lemony smell when crushed. These conifers are commonly used as hedging due to their quick growth rate, they can reach a max height of 12ft, spreading to 4ft wide, making this cupressus an ideal screen hedge.
Other than it's colourful foliage, another reason why this plant is so popular is due to its ease of care, it requires watering only when the soil is dry, and it can tolerate dry conditions once it is established, it will grow in almost any type of soil so long as it is well-drained. The foliage of this conifer will retain it's beautifully bright colour throughout winter while it is planted in a fully sunny position in the garden.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a grower's pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Cupressus are best planted in well-drained soil and full sun, as they thrive in these conditions for strong growth and resistance to disease.
How to Water
Water Cupressus plants deeply and consistently, especially in dry periods. Ensure the soil remains moist but not soggy. Once established, they are drought-tolerant, but regular watering helps maintain healthy growth.
How to Plant
Plant Cupressus in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil. Space them adequately for their mature size, and backfill with soil.
