Product description
A compact fern with great colour and an interesting shape, the Doodia ‘Rough Ruby’, also known by a few other names such as Hacksaw Fern or Prickly Rasp Fern. It is an evergreen perennial with lovely arching pinnate or cut leaves which emerge as a bright red-pink, before maturing to their more standard glossy dark green hue. Great as a low growing option to act as groundcover and density around other bedding or border plants.
Plant in moist, well-drained, preferable somewhat acidic soils. Keep partial shaded and consider mulching or keeping sheltered under glass to protect from harsh frosts and Winter winds.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Provide Doodia with a layer of mulch to retain moisture and protect the roots during hot or dry weather.
How to Water
Water regularly to keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged. Avoid letting the plant dry out completely. During dry spells, increase watering to ensure consistent moisture around the roots.
How to Plant
Plant Doodia ferns in well-draining, slightly acidic soil with partial to full shade. Dig a hole large enough for the roots and place the plant in the hole at the same depth as it was in the pot. Backfill with soil and water thoroughly.
