Product description
Known commonly as Scaly Male Fern, the Dryopteris affinis is a robust, semi-evergreen fern with a rosette of foliage. The plant produces yellow green pinnae that matures into a forest green, with golden scales on the stem and midrib. It would be a wonderful addition to any border, bed or cottage garden.
This plant is tolerant of most soils and positioning, however it thrives best in dappled, part or full shade in a moist, well drained soil. Can tolerate partial or full sun if watered regularly. This plant can be drought tolerant, once it is established.

How to Water
Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Avoid waterlogging, as it can cause root rot. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.
How to Plant
Plant Dryopteris ferns in a shaded or partially shaded area with moist, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Dig a hole large enough for the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Space plants about 45-60cm apart. Water thoroughly after planting.
