Elaeagnus ebbingei Gilt Edge, commonly known as Oleaster, is an eye-catching, evergreen shrub. Its leaves are variegated and bring great colour into the garden through dark green centres and gold-yellow margins. This feature makes the plant stand out within any plant displays or flower arrangements, as well as the plants silver flowers and their intense fragrance. The evergreen foliage brings year-round interest, the blooms will appear in Autumn and the plant will produce tasty, orange-red fruit in Winter.
This Elaeagnus is best placed in an area of full sunlight, whilst you should aim to keep its soil moist and well-drained. The plant is drought tolerant, so it will generally requires less attention over time, although regular watering is advised to ensure it thrives well.

How to Plant
Plant Elaeagnus in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball, set the plant in, and backfill with soil. Firm the soil gently and water thoroughly. Space multiple plants 90-150cm apart for proper growth.
