Product description
Gardenia Jasminoides Double Diamond is a fantastic evergreen that has an upright, well-branched, vigorous growth. This variety is particularly noted for being very hardy, heat tolerant and easier to grow than many other Gardenia varieties. It produces very pretty, bright white, large double flowers that contrast beautifully against their canvas of dark green, glossy leaves. The flowers are best planted in patio containers or in sheltered borders next to a path or doorway, where their delightful fragrance can be best appreciated.
Plant the gardenias in moist, well-drained soil, preferably in compost for acid loving plants. Over spring and summer keep the compost moist, but not saturated. Over winter, when the plants are not growing, reduce the watering, without allowing the compost to dry out between watering. They prefer a sunny spot but can also be planted in part-shade. Provide sufficient high nitrogen liquid feed in the summer. Keep the plants in shape by light pruning as soon as flowering is ended.

Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Gardenias thrive in humid environments. To maintain humidity, consider misting the leaves or placing a humidifier nearby.
How to Water
Water Gardenias deeply and consistently, keeping the soil moist but not soggy. Avoid overwatering, as they are sensitive to root rot. During dry spells, water more frequently but allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
How to Plant
Plant Gardenias in well-draining, acidic soil with a slightly acidic pH. Choose a location with partial to full sun and dig a hole about twice the size of the root ball. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.
