Product description

Hedera Green are evergreen climbing shrubs that use aerial roots to cling, climb and trail up the hanging pots. Green Ivy is a hedera plant that has attractive deep green leaves and is a great indoor/outdoor plant. It usually requires little attention or care, it prefers bright indirect light and cool temperatures.

Since Green Ivy plants do not need a lot of space, they are best suited for vertical gardening and container gardening. They will flourish in a fertile but regularly drained soil and lots of indirect sunlight. Lower sunlight might result in pale leaves and the foliage can develop purple tints if exposed to colder weather.

It is easy to grow Green Ivy in almost all conditions. Provide a general-purpose fertiliser once a month in summers. In dry seasons spider mites are attracted but can be dealt with by giving the plant a good shower once a week.

Hedera Ivy’s unique wavy edged leaves are very attractive and will brighten up your winter garden, trellises and fences. Prune it properly to maintain its shape and tidiness otherwise it will grow bushy towards the sides.

It is a lovely sight to gaze at the contrasting pale green veins of its brilliant foliage in March - October. Use Green Ivy in your winter pots or hanging baskets.

Instructions

Top Tip

Prune regularly to control growth and prevent it from becoming invasive, especially when grown near structures or trees.

How to Water

Water Hedera regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, water moderately, letting the soil dry slightly between watering. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.

How to Plant

Plant Hedera in well-draining soil in partial to full shade, although it can tolerate sun with adequate moisture. Dig a hole as deep as the root ball, place the plant, and fill with soil. Space 30-45cm apart for ground cover. Mulch to retain moisture and reduce weeds.
