Product description

A compact, clump-forming perennial with deep, vibrant colouration. The Heuchera 'Black Beauty' is a variety of alum root which are commonly seen as part of low shrub displays or woodland style groundcover. The foliage consists of mounds of large, ruffled leaves of deep red nearing black. The plant is considered semi-evergreen, allowing year-round foliage colour in warmer regions. Thin stems sometimes appear above the foliage carrying loose sprays of tiny white flowers in the Summer.

Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soil and keep in full or partial sun. Protection from cold and frost is recommended in colder regions. May die back but fresh growth will appear the following Spring.

Instructions

Top Tip

Heuchera plants thrive with a layer of mulch to retain moisture and keep the roots cool during hot weather.

How to Water

Heuchera prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid overwatering as they don't like soggy conditions. Water at the base to prevent leaf disease.

How to Plant

Plant Heuchera in well-drained soil. Choose a spot with partial to full shade. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, place the plant in, and cover the roots with soil. Space plants 30-45cm apart for good air circulation.
